Remarks on Oldroyd-b and Related Complex Fluid Models

چکیده
We prove global existence and uniqueness of solutions of Oldroyd-B systems with relatively small data in Rd, in a large functional setting (Cα ∩ L1). This is a stability result, solutions select an equilibrium and converge exponentially to it. Large spatial derivatives of the initial density and stress are allowed, provided the L∞ norm of the density and stress are small enough. We prove global regularity for large data for a model in which the potential responds to high rates of strain in the fluid. We also prove global existence for a class of large data for a didactic scalar model which attempts to capture in the simplest way the essence of the dissipative nature of the coupling to fluid. This latter model has an unexpected cone invariance in function space that is crucial for the global existence.

Transient Electro-osmotic Slip Flow of an Oldroyd-B Fluid with Time-fractional Caputo-Fabrizio Derivative
In this article, the electro-osmotic flow of Oldroyd-B fluid in a circular micro-channel with slip boundary condition is considered. The corresponding fractional system is represented by using a newly defined time-fractional Caputo-Fabrizio derivative without singular kernel. Closed form solutions for the velocity field are acquired by means of Laplace and finite Hankel transforms. Additionally...

Unsteady oscillatory flow of generalized Burgers’ fluid in a circular channel tube in the porous medium is investigated under the influence of time-dependent trapezoidal pressure gradient given by an infinite Fourier series. An exact analytical expression for the solution for the fluid velocity and the shear stress are recovered by using the similarity arguments together with the integral trans...

Understanding the behavior of complex fluids in biology presents mathematical, modeling, and computational challenges not encountered in classical fluid mechanics, particularly in the case of fluids with large elastic forces that interact with immersed elastic structures. We discuss some of the characteristics of strongly elastic flows and introduce different models and methods designed for the...

Thermodynamic analysis of a steady state flow and heat transfer of an Oldroyd 8-constant fluid with effect of heat source, velocity slip and buoyancy force under tranverse a magnetic field is is carried out in this paper. The model for momentum and energy balance is tackled numerically using Method of Weighted Residual (MWR). Partition method is used to minimize the associated residuals. The re...
متن کاملExistence, Uniqueness, and Quasilinearization Results for Nonlinear Differential Equations Arising in Viscoelastic Fluid Flow
Because of their various applications during the past several years, generalizations of the Navier-Stokes model to highly nonlinear constitutive laws have been proposed and studied (see [4, 5, 7]). Several different models have been introduced to explain such nonstandard features, as normal stress effect, rod climbing, shear thinning, and shear thickening. Among the differential-typemodels, Old...
